Does every genital rash require STI testing or treatment?
Not necessarily. Many genital skin conditions can be diagnosed through a clinical examination without blood tests. Additional testing depends on the symptoms, examination findings and individual risk factors.
A positive test result also does not always mean treatment is needed. For example, a positive herpes (HSV) antibody test without symptoms does not usually require antiviral treatment. However, some STIs require treatment even without symptoms.
